Kinetic was founded in March of 2004. Its purpose was simple: Change the underrepresentation of powernoise, IDM, and associated subgenres in the Chicago industrial scene. Beginning first at the ill-fated Bottom Lounge, the night moved from there after the venue's being closed by the city of Chicago through eminent domain. It held a number of underground shows and dance nights before landing at Spot 6, where the night flourished. In 2006, the present culmination of the club's efforts was achieved through successfully pulling off the Indoctrination Festival, the likes of which hadn't been seen anywhere in Chicago's illustrious history of industrial music.

Kinetic operates on the last Saturday of each month at the following address: Kinetic @ Spot 6 3343 N Clark St, Chicago, IL
Genres you may expect to hear include rhythmic noise, powernoise, IDM, glitch, aggressive EBM, digital hardcore, and all manner of oddities in between. Cover is and always will be $3, and Spot 6 is a 21-up venue.
