[edit] DJ Biography

  • 1991: Began spinning industrial and experimental electronic music on WJUL Lowell MA (now WUML). Longest running show, The High Voltage Circumcision show helped give exposure to then unknown acts and hosted the first shows of countless acts including Pneumatic Detach, Infrastructure (see Mindfield), Terretron, Codec, Gasr, AEC (see Informatik and Battery Cage), and Zipperspy to name a few. Non stop industrial radio programs would continue till 2001 and be picked up again off and on to this day.
  • 1993: Started the first online Industrial DJ list as a networking resource (also called the EEI DJ List and now hosted at Industrial.org). Produced first live events under Voidstar Productions.
  • 1995-2003: countless shows hosted and guest DJ appearances.
  • 2004-2005: Resident DJ at Lumen Flux (Lowell, MA). Collage DJ working improvisationally with video artists and modern dancers. Spun in this ensemble at the Art Beat festival in Somerville, The Philly Fringe Festival in Philadelphia PA, Unity Gain in NYC, The Micromuseum, and more. As a DJ performance, scored a remixed version of the film Metropolis at the Enormous Room (Cambridge MA). Joined the industrial band Abstinence.

Besides being a DJ, Deftly-D is also active in many other facets of industrial, noise and rhythmic noise culture. He is also an industrial musician, performance artist, promoter, music producer, and distributor.
